We sometimes deviate from this shipping schedule and on Monday-Wednesday may ship your
order on the same day it is placed. Please Contact Us if you would like to know for sure when your order will be shipped.
Orders placed Monday are shipped Tuesday
- Orders placed Tuesday are shipped Wednesday
- Orders placed Wednesday before 10am PST are Shipped Wednesday
- Orders placed Wednesday after 10am PST are shipped Monday
All orders are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail.
Priority mail is one of the best values in shipping with competitive, economical prices.
Priority Mail generally offers 2-3 day service (occasionally longer) to most domestic destinations
and one day delivery to some locations. However, the USPS does not guarantee a 3 day delivery time.
Priority Mail includes delivery to every address in the United States, including PO Boxes and military addresses.
If you prefer to have your order shipped via USPS Express Mail (1 to 2 day service) please leave a message
in the "Special Notes" section of the order form requesting Express Mail. We will then email you with
the adjusted shipping amount and order total and give you the opportunity to accept or decline the new total.
Should your order arrive dead on arrival (DOA), we will reship your order via priority mail free of charge on our
next scheduled shipping day.
Live delivery is guaranteed on all orders that meet the following terms:
Returns & Refunds
We DO NOT guarantee live delivery to destinations where the daytime high temperature is 90° F
and above or to high temperature of 40° F and below, regardless of time in transit. This is the daytime high temperature, not the
temperature at time of delivery.
Shipment to such temperatures is at your own risk.
Should your priority mail shipment take longer than three days to reach you (a rare occurrence) and the high temperature is above 40 and below 90 degrees F,
we will reship the order free of product charge, but the customer must pay the
ACTUAL shipping charge to reship the order. The actual shipping charge will be
the cost to reship the order, whether that charge is above or below our flat rate shipping charge. There will be no product charge.
In the event of a DOA, DO NOT DISCARD THE DEAD ITEM(s). We may require that the item(s) be returned to us or USPS may
need to inspect and document the damage when filing a claim.
SOMEONE MUST BE HOME FOR ALL SHIPMENTS.
Orders cannot be left outside for ANY period of time.
We cannot offer reshipments, refunds or credits after a second DOA failure.
We must be notified of DOA's or other problems within 24 hours of delivery for the live guarantee to remain in effect.
DOA notifications must be made via Email so that we will have a written record of the problem.
DOA's due to carrier mistakes or delay must be handled through the carrier.
We cannot accommodate special delivery instructions, such as "Leave package at the side of the house behind bush"
or "Deliver between 1 and 2pm" or "Deliver to front door, not mail box." We WILL place your special note on the package,
but postal carriers may not read or
follow such instructions written on the package, and we have no control over what time orders are delivered.
We will not be held responsible for DOA's resulting from the failure of mail carriers to follow special shipping
instructions or from shipments not delivered at a specific time or a specific day.
We do ship to Alaska, but do not guarantee live delivery.
We Do Not Give Refunds. Non-living items can be returned for a store credit. Living items cannot be returned or credited.
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, personal checks, money orders and PayPal. Orders cannot be shipped until payment is received and/or verified. Personal checks will be held for 7 days to ensure sufficient funds. If you are paying by personal check or money order, after you check out at our store, make checks and money orders payable to The Silkworm Shop
